What we know about you

As little as an app like this can. This page says exactly what, for how long, and why. No legal voice, because you should actually read it.

The short version

No ads, no trackers, no analytics companies. We never sell or share your data.
We never read your contacts and never ask for your phone number.
Your exact location only exists on a moment you create, and is wiped the minute it ends.
Nobody can find you by searching. People get in only through a link you send.
Delete your account in the app and everything goes, at once, no undo.

Who we are

Unplanned is made in Groningen, the Netherlands. We are the controller of your data under the GDPR. Reach us at hello@unplanned.nu.

What we store, and for how long

Your phone's location

The app asks for location while you use it, never in the background. It uses it for three things: to put a moment on the map where you are, to say how far other moments are, and the rounded version above for notifications. You can say no; then you type a place instead and distances are not shown.

Who else touches the data

Supabase hosts the database and sends the sign-in emails. Servers in the European Union.
Apple delivers push notifications and handles Sign in with Apple and the Friends subscription.
Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Apple Maps draws the maps and finds places when you type. Your searches go to Apple, not to us.
Nobody else. No analytics, no crash reporting services, no advertising.

Your rights

See, change and delete: all in the app, under You. Deleting your account removes your profile, circles, moments and messages right away. For a copy of your data, or anything else, mail hello@unplanned.nu and we answer within a week. If you think we got something wrong you can also complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Age

Unplanned is for people aged 16 and over.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the app tells you the next time you open it. The date at the top is the last change.
